My best friend from Junior High in Miami came to London today. Though I was still recovering from a virus, there was no way I was going to pass up an hour train ride to see him. We met in the evening at a pub called the Punch Bowl in Mayfair. His wife, Lucy, and her sister joined along with some of her sister’s friends.
David hadn’t changed much. He’s a bit thicker in the shoulders and still charming and funny. It was nice chatting about old times in Miami, friends in common, and living near the beach. He’s now in Tennessee and is a professor who specializes in the Kurds. He was in London on a conference.
